This is an amusing story about the Geek Squad’s abilty to fuck up errr tweak PCs and the performance enhancements that result. Best to do it yourself I think.

I dealt with the Geek Squad twice and the experiences were fine, but because I know enough to be dangerous, I could understand what they were doing and was able to provide them with specific guidance.
The 200% increase in processor speed amused me greatly. The only time I ever recall seeing that kind of overclocking was when Tom’s Hardware, some years back, overclocked a Pentium 4 processor from 2.4 Ghz to 5.0 Ghz. For cooling, it required liquid nitrogen.Report
