Since my last we completed the topside planking on both hulls. It makes for a very pretty picture.
My wife also did a complete redesign of the Sailing Montauk website. We both felt a new boat with more capacity needed a more central place in the voicing and the visual. I think my wife nailed it: Sailing Montauk, featuring the US Coast Guard Inspected Vessel MON TIKI. (And yes, I expect every single last one of you blogging motherfishers to find a reason to link to the site using the example anchor text. Do it, or live with my scorn forever!)
The coming month will be a big push. As soon as we get the decks on and the hulls weather-tight, we can move them outside and begin assembling the boat. Exciting!

There are some similarities:
We use plywood plating, welded with epoxy. BIW uses steel plating, welded with welds. In either case, what plate material likes (slabs and simple curves) and what it doesn’t like (compound curves) plays a big part in determining the shape of the boat.Report
