I read a set of novellas on my nook, Winter Well, that were unified by a theme of having “older” (at least 30, up to post-retirement-age) female main characters, and they were pretty good. Then I started up Voyage of the Beagle again, but he was talking about geology, so I fell asleep. Paperwise, I’m reading an Iris Murdoch novel, The Philosopher’s Pupil, than in any other hands would be terrible (at least by modern standards – it kind of reminds me of Victor Hugo in some ways), but, because it is her, I am loving the heck out of it. She writes exactly the sort of paragraphs I most like to read.
When I have been watching things, it’s Parks and Rec I have been watching.Report
