Farewell, Warrior on the Edge of Time
Lemmy Kilmister has died at 70 of cancer…
If death can happen to him, it can happen to anyone.

Glyph
Glyph is worse than some and better than others. He believes that life is just one damned thing after another, that only pop music can save us now, and that mercy is the mark of a great man (but he's just all right). Nothing he writes here should be taken as an indication that he knows anything about anything.

We have been experiencing some system resource issues. We believe the problem may be resolved, but if it is not please bear with us.

He’s not gone; death only got the body; it missed the rest.Report
The man saw the Beatles at 16 and roadied for Hendrix. As an AVClub commenter said, we have to consider the possibility that Lemmy took Death with him.Report
All Metal. No Wham.

The Hawkwind stuff is really amazingly good. I was recently reminded of that by a musician friend who’s a huge fan and inspired me to return to those albums that he’s on and it’s really top notch stuff, regardless of genre.Report
With all fairness, I prefer the studio version of “Space Is Deep” with Dave Brock vocals.
The live version on A Space Ritual is more up-tempo, which I feel is inappropriate for the piece, and the dual vocals featuring Lemmy ruins it for me.
That said, much of A Space Ritual is like extended version proto-punk with weird background noises. Good stuff. A classic. Also, best album cover ever.
I think Doremi was probably the best of the studio stuff with Lemmy on it. I could be overlooking something though.Report

My heart goes out in particular to Keith Richard. This can’t be an easy time for him.Report

I just heard about this on the radio immediately before I saw this post.
A sad day.Report
