At least he’s consistent. Le sigh.

Borat, Art, and the Eye of the Beholder
Borat: “I do a picture, only small, of the Tishnik Masacre. Where many Uzbeks…crushed!”
Kindly Gray Hippie: “How did you feel when you drew this?”
Borat: “Very proud!”.
KGH: “I’m just listening with sadness…a little sadness for your people…?”
Borat: “Yes…no, it is not sad. It is us who do the kill!”

I think I should run with the whole “nihilist” joke, if I may.
It betrays a deep sickness within any virtue ethic when the handmaidens of the virtues are elevated into virtues in their own right. At least the 9/11 pilots were brave. At least the guy who called your proverbial mother fat was honest. At least Andrew Sullivan is consistent.
You people.
(There. That’s my best shot.)
So, first Sullivan annoys everyone on the right by peddling insane Palin pregnancy theories.
Then, he irritates everyone else by becoming a cryptobirther.
Is he trying to get everyone to stop taking him seriously? This feels like a cry for help. Considering how hard he’s been on Obama for, I don’t know, everything the past few days, I wonder what it is that’s put him over the edge.
Wasn’t the birth certificate posted online?
Why is National Review being more reasonable about this than Andrew Sullivan?
What the hell is going on?
Le sigh indeed.
He’s an attention clown.
I can’t believe anyone reads Sullivan anymore. First it was his Bush/Cheney obsessions, then the Palin pregnancy, then the Walt/Meersheimer anti Semitism (sorry…anti Zionism), and now he’s into Obama birthism. How can so many people be attracted to such a self-righteous clown? I guess his fan base is mainly other so-called liberal Catholics. They are huge moral preeners and the biggest demographic of holier-than-thouism in the country. They love to think that Sullivan “gets it right” on anything and everything only because he brings his moral preening into every discussion.
