Freddie already gave me a gracious introduction, but I thought it was worth writing a quick introduction for everyone. My name is Jamelle Bouie, I’m a recent graduate of the University of Virginia, and I’m setting up shop here as one of the League’s resident liberals. I started my personal blog, the United States of Jamerica, in June 2007 and I’ll periodically post things there (mostly frivolous). I’m a semi-regular contributor to the blog PostBourgie (which you should check out), and in the past, I’ve co-blogged for Campus Progress’ (now-defunct) Pushback and guest-blogged at Feministe. I look forward to contributing to the League, and hopefully I won’t disappoint (at least not too much!).
