Borat, Art, and the Eye of the Beholder
Borat: “I do a picture, only small, of the Tishnik Masacre. Where many Uzbeks…crushed!”
Kindly Gray Hippie: “How did you feel when you drew this?”
Borat: “Very proud!”.
KGH: “I’m just listening with sadness…a little sadness for your people…?”
Borat: “Yes…no, it is not sad. It is us who do the kill!”
When in doubt, consult the classics [5:30 mark].

Over on the Mindless Diversions site...
Our intrepid commenter A Teacher tells the story of how he published his NaNoWriMo book (and, of course, tells us how we can get a copy of it for ourselves). ( 2 comments)

I submit the following embarassing commentary:
1. In defense of this program is this scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swf541VPt8Q
2. Modest Mouse on the OC was far more personnally painful.
Was it worse than when Death Cab was on the OC? What about when that Modest Mouse song was featured in a minivan commercial?
I had forgotten all about that egregious OC appearance. Damn – that was like ripping a band-aid off an open wound.
Seriously, Will? Not to make a mountain out of a molehill, but as art-related commentary goes, Ugh, get your “inferior” pop culture off of my “superior” pop culture was already pretty tiresome by the time Kurt had that really bad day in April.
