Justin Gardner astutely picks up on what appears to be a conciliatory trial balloon from a potential candidate for the GOP nomination in ’12. Particularly in the wake of the Club for Growth’s nihilistic maneuvering last week, I can’t foresee this being more than an isolated incident that is unlikely to significantly improve the bill’s miniscule chances. But Corker has co-sponsored Wyden-Bennett in the past, so it’s not much of a stretch to conclude that his comments signal that he’s interested in backing it now.
