On the anniversary of that momentous occasion, I’d recommend checking out the following On Point podcast (from which the name of this post is derived) on the fall of the Berlin Wall. I listen to a lot of podcasts from Ashrbook et al, they run a tight, quality ship, and I found this one fascinating beyond my already high estimation of the show. Meyer clearly knows what he’s talking about and provides a pretty mesmerizing first hand account of the lead up to the fall that offers an interesting downplay of the role of American exceptionalism.
At any rate, definitely worth a listen.
