Cincinnati-West Virginia Open Thread

Mark T. wants us to respect foozball in the Big East.  Well, my hometown Bearcats have just gone up 21-14 in a game against the Mountaineers.  Tony Pike comes off the bench with 2 completions for 2 touchdowns after missing the last 3 games with an injury (plus surgery!!!).  UC had a very costly turnover in the first half.  If they don’t turn the ball over anymore, I think they might be able to open up some space.  Thoughts?

Some pretty weak play calling by both coaches here in the third. UC could really be putting this game out of reach in this quarter. But WVU’s play calling is even worse.

Meanwhile every commercial in this game is for Notre Dame v Pitt. As one raised ultra-Roman Catholic and forced to root for Notre Dame, I have to say (maliciously) I hate the Irish and I’m so glad they blow. Coach Charlie W. is getting everything he deserves.

If the Bearcats hold it for this one, they look to be headed for a big time show down with Pitt.

Side question: How come UC’s backup QB (Collaros) is light years better than my Buckeyes starting QB (the over-hyped) Pryor?

Cincy is stupidly letting WVU hang around. They’ve had 2 or 3 chances to put this game out of reach.

Huge stand by the UC defense. UC is really wishing they would have made that first half field goal at this point. 5:23 to go. See if the offense can put this one away.

Pead MVP of the game for UC. Here’s the chance to drop the stake into the heart.

wow. this one ain’t over yet. the scrambling QB for WVU is killing UC. Now to the onside kick with 40 seconds left.

that’s ballgame with UC recovering the kick. Cincy is going to have to play better than that to beat Pitt, but still a tough good win.

Sorry, I just can’t find any respect for Big East football.

The best thing the Big East has done in recent years is to send Rich Rodriguez to Michigan to decimate the Wolverines. Thank you Big East. Go Bucks.
