If the Stockholm County Administrative Board, which supervises foundations in Sweden’s capital, finds that prize founder Alfred Nobel’s will is not being honored, it has the authority to suspend award decisions going back three years — though that would be unlikely and unprecedented, said Mikael Wiman, a legal expert working for the county. Maine surprised me. This doesn’t surprise me.
It was a desperation longshot attempted in the closing days of a lameduck Dem governor’s administration. It looks like the pro-equality side gained a vote, but that’s about it. Interesting that so few of the anti-SSM side actually gave speeches, though.

Same thing happened in New York. They’re voting no, but quietly now. That’s not going to win any converts. The tide is turning, just slowly.
