Happy Birthday!

by Scott H. Payne on January 21, 2010

Today is our one-year anniversary, so I thought I’d post a little note congratulating all the contributors for their hard work over the past year and congratulating all of our commenters for their role in creating a great community around the site. No long winded reflection on the past year to follow, just the suggestion that you git yo’self some cake today.

Happy birthday. Short time reader, first time caller. I have to admit that so far, I’ve been very impressed with this blog. I’m a small ‘l’ libertarian, personally socially conservative but politically socially liberal (you do what you want, I do what I want, mmkay?), fiscally conservative, gun nut. I love the difference of opinions here and the level of discourse between everyone. It’s nice to see a place where disagreements don’t instantly devolve into poo flinging and insults.

I hope to join into the fray soon, but at least know there are people out there who appreciate the tone of this blog.

Happy Birthday indeed. Any reason why you chose the Gipper or was it just the most convenient cake?

Honestly, I was looking for a standard picture of a birthday cake, preferably with one candle, and I happened across this picture. It was too funny/perfect to pass up. And Mike is right, the Gipper’s suit is money.

Man – that suit on the Gipper is pimp! I would kill to see the President, any President, roll out for a press briefing in one of those.

And Happy Birthday League!

Happy Birthday, LoOG. I assume, Scott, you are currently dressed just as Ronnie is in the picture.

Were it that I could be that stylin’, Jon.

I’m with Mike. If the Big O had a suit like that he wouldn’t have lost Massachewsetts….er, well maybe!

That suit! My eyes!! The goggles do nothing!

Anyhow, horrible suits notwithstanding, a hearty mazel tov to all of you.
