Good work, David. I generally see no problem with colleges hosting events like the less-clothed ones described in that post–no one is forced to attend them, after all*–but I think it’s important that young people understand that the choice not to have sex is just as valid as the choice to have sex. I was a volunteer sexual educator in college, and I’m quite pleased that many colleges educate students about safe sex and help them to make responsible adult decisions about sex, but I think the validation of the choice not to have sex can sometimes get lost in the shuffle.
*I think colleges should be open forums for all kinds of ideas to get thrown about. The only exception I make is when the speaker has advocated for or committed violence against a member or group within the community.

Arranging for innocent people to be tortured to death, sure, but indulging in consensual and mutually pleasurable activities is right out.

I was referring to National Review’s approval of what David said, not David himself. Of course, they also admire Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh, so they must prefer both the serious sort of adultery that leads to yet another divorce and remarriage and planned-in-advance sex with Third World hookers to the casual hookup.

Honestly, this just shows how messed up our cultural attitudes about sex are.

The alternatives are limited to abstinence until marriage, or extreme kink and random hookups? Really?

Of course, S&M is perfectly compatible with a happy monogamous marriage, if not with egalitarian marriage.

Last I checked Joe, the lefts position on sex was “whatever floats your boat”. So wouldn’t a more accurate summation be abstinence until marriage vs anything goes?

There’s a lot of stuff contained in “abstinence” that also happen to be a hell of a lot of fun.

Grinding! My goodness. You could do that for hours and, here’s the best part, if you happened to break up with the other person, there were no deep pairbonding issues to haunt you. Indeed, you could make out with this one person this week, that one next week, and that one the week after that. And, you know what? It was good clean fun.

Nowdays, it seems like people are just having sex right off the goddamn bat and missing out on all of that delicious 2nd base action. Hell, half of the appeal of the lap dance is the fact that it’s 2nd base and that’s the only place it’s gonna go. They have establishments that make millions (billions) of dollars a year dedicated to 2nd base!

This is how awesome 2nd base is.

We should go back to that.

See, my understanding of “abstinence” – drilled into me by our public education system, by the way, thanks Bush – is “first base is pushing it, bucko – you can get herpes from kissing.”
