Br. Erik (as the League’s Arizonan) is probably in a better position to assess this, but why is J.D. Hayworth running an ad with John McCain painted in Avatar-war paint? 1. McCain is remembered as a war hero and 2. The Nav’i f@#!’in won at the end of the movie.
Borat: “I do a picture, only small, of the Tishnik Masacre. Where many Uzbeks…crushed!”
Kindly Gray Hippie: “How did you feel when you drew this?”
Borat: “Very proud!”.
KGH: “I’m just listening with sadness…a little sadness for your people…?”

Did you not stay after the closing credits?
The saturation bombing resulted in significant resources being freed. Once the dog was out of the manger, the people who had a much more legitimate claim to the resources were able to improve the quality of life for millions.
Wonderful.
Maybe he’s hoping he can land some hot Nav’i chick?
In fairness, there’s the whole “Na’vi are savage natives blahblahblahblahblahblah” narrative and how the movie is actually a tragedy meme that’s been going around….
Nob, got some links? That sounds like something I have to read but something that’s also taking place in a corner of the sphere I don’t care to wade through.
I wish I did, but trying to find them again would entail going back through that horrible section of the sphere…However, I suppose a cursory googling of “anti-military” and “avatar” will give you some idea of why it might not be such a bad thing to paint your opponent as part of the na’vi, at least for the crowd that shows up to vote in Republican primaries.
From a purely meta view by the way, I think the accusation does kind of work…
McCain is like Jake Sully in that he’s an honorable warrior that’s gone to Washington and gone “native” betraying his People (the Conservatives) or something…
