Endear yourself to the Mooslims: check.
I’m prepared to take bets on how long it will take the anti-Park51 crowd to start citing this new Gallup poll as yet more evidence that President Obama is really a radical Muslim Manchurian candidate and that the Cordona House Project must be stopped to save America.

Call me the eternal optimist, but despite sliding numbers across the board, Newt’s favorite Godless socialist isn’t doing too badly with people of faith, all things considered. I mean, the Mormons genuinely don’t like Obama. But do Mormons give any national politician other than Mittens a gold star?
The religiously based rhetoric has been thick in the air these days, so it isn’t altogether surprising that the Heathen in Chief has been negatively impacted.
Buried in that Pew report from last week noting that the number of Americans who believe that Obama is a Muslim were some interesting numbers on the perceived influence of religion on American daily life and politics.
Despite a prevalent belief that religion’s influence is on the wane, there has been a notable switch in the degree to which Americans believe churches should stay out of politics.
So while it is true and unsurprising that Republicans have, except in the case of Hispanic Catholics, picked up support amongst those of faith, it seems also to be true that the more that religion becomes a dividing line in politics, the more everyone stands to lose out.

Kindly Gray Hippie: “How did you feel when you drew this?”
Borat: “Very proud!”.
KGH: “I’m just listening with sadness…a little sadness for your people…?”
Borat: “Yes…no, it is not sad. It is us who do the kill!”

I don’t think it’s because the public thinks Obama is a “heathen” or a godless “mooslim” — I think it’s because he has been a poor executive, and his ambitious plan to transform the country backfired, causing him to backtrack, manipulate and basically muddle around in confusion. Obama believed his own press and his progressive tendencies caused him to push forward with an agenda that perhaps 25% of the country supports. Independents dissatisfied with Bush gave him a chance to be a dignified, historic president who might at least tell the truth, but they have been dissappointed by his political manipulations and failure to put forth a clear vision of the direction he thinks is best for America. He appears to be poll driven and concerned more with image (among a certain social set) than he is with doing something about the worst aspects of a too-powerful State — like corporate welfare and our bog-down in two wars.
It’s worse than you think. There’s a hidden code of vengeance in this poll. If we add the three percentages of Obama’s approval and multiply by the total by three, we arrive at 741, the year of the decisive Battle of Bagdoura, a victory of the Berber people over the Islam-spreading Arabs. Clearly the polled Muslims see Obama as, as you say, a radical Muslim Manchurian candidate who will help right this wrong and impose Islam throughout the world.
A further sign of the end of America: Muslims have the highest percentages in this poll. Their numbers are greater than all the others, a sign of ruin to come. Not only must we stop Park 51; we must prevent those haters of freedom who, of course, love Obama, from voting in polls!
@Kyle Cupp, And yet nobody is much concerned about the pod people, who pose the real threat to the country.
@Rufus, Dude,…this is X-Files stuff, I think an episode in year 4. And, I’ve just recv’d years 5 and 7!
I’m sure had the Republicans won the White House, a 60-seat majority in the Senate and two-thirds of the House they would have been humble and restrained in victory.
Obama believed his own press and his progressive tendencies caused him to push forward with an agenda that perhaps 25% of the country supports.
Obama has done what he said he would do during the campaign of 2008, including health care reform, financial regulation and economic stimulus. If only 25% supported those things, I’m curious as to why he got 54% of the popular vote and a huge margin in the electoral vote.
His main problem is the economy, which collapsed in 2008, has not recovered enough to bring about acceptable levels of unemployment or reduce the massive budget deficits.
@Pug,
Because only about half of eligible voters vote — Obama won with approximately 25% of eligible voters — it’s a minority. But that will likely change now that more people are involved in politics..
@Mike Farmer, As opposed to the majority of all Americans who gave Bush and the GOP victories in the last decade?
Smarter trolls, please
@Barry,
I didn’t vote for Bush, and the majority didn’t either, but nice try at smearing me as a troll. When people run out of ideas, they attack the person.
@Pug,
His actions have made a bad situation worse, and this is why voters are dissatisfied.
@Mike Farmer,
I think it would be more accurate to say his actions haven’t made things any better, or maybe just slightly better… If you think things are worse now than when Bush left office, I would suggest smoking something less intoxicating.
Also, your math is a bit off. If turnout was “about” 50%, then he won with “about” 27% of the votes.
Of course, turnout was actually at it’s highest since ’68, with more than 60% voting.
@kd,
Excuse me, 28% approximately. That disintegrates my point.
@Mike Farmer,
Except that your point isn’t based in fact, but rather, by what you wish were true.
@Mike Farmer,
Factual error.
@Barry,
That’s very convincing.
Yous guys is missing the point! Barry the Vacationer is the most successful pres in history. His obvious goal is to destroy the American economy, institute so many screwed up socialist/commie edicts that the gutless, balless GOP will never be able to undo the mess, to throw so many people outta work that they gotta live off Barry’s largesse (Oh, Barry saved us during the Great Depression of 2011!), and to destroy any incentive for small business (God bless you , Mr. Gault!).
There can be no other answer, because no one would be so stupid, so simple minded, as to suggest his policies have any other purpose. Surely, not to get us outta a minor recession started by the commie-dems housing policies?
Muslim or not Obama does seem to be doing his best to ruin this country.
I laugh to myself when I think about “the Muslim threat”.
We haven’t even begun to fight such a war and they would have no idea what hit them because they don’t even have tools as sophisticated as those held by the Evangelicals in the 60′s, 70′s, and 80′s.
Imagine, if you will:
