Oh dear lord, this has got to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen: From the brewery’s blog: Faithfull Ale is a celebration of Pearl Jam’s 20th anniversary as a band and its extraordinary debut album, “Ten.” In recognition of these milestones, this Belgian-style golden ale is delicately hopped to 20 IBUs and fruit-forward from [...]

Sometimes it’s the small innovations that make all the difference. In the world of food this can mean many different things but one of the biggest innovations in how food vendors do business in recent years is the food truck. Light-weight, mobile, and able to cater to a niche customer base, the food truck is [...]

Deschutes Brewery in , Oregon exists “to profitably deliver the finest beers in the world and cultivate extraordinary experiences” according to their website. Brian Palmer has an interesting piece in Slate making the case for cheap wine. It turns out that in Germany, the average wine drinker only spends about $1.79 on a bottle of wine, whereas here in the states an “everyday” bottle runs about $15. This is despite the fact that basically nobody can tell the difference between [...]

Back in 2003 I lived with my then-girlfriend (now-wife) in Denver, CO not terribly far from the New Belgium brewery up in Fort Collins. That winter there was a snow storm that ground the city to a halt. And not just Denver, but the entire foothills stretch from Colorado Springs in the south to Fort [...]
